My background includes providing a range of support services to students of diverse backgrounds, personalities, cultures, and socioeconomic conditions. I have served populations in various districts in Southern California. I hold a Bachelors of Science with a specialization in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, San Diego and a Master’s in Education from Azusa Pacific University. Currently, I am pursing my Educational Specialist Credential for Educational Psychology and License Professional Clinical Counselor. As the school psychologist, I provide assessment and counseling services to students referred for appropriate educational services, and promoting appropriate mental health services. My roles include:
- Conduct initial and triennial assessments of students enrolled in special education and write corresponding reports
- Select, administer, score, and integrate with other data, providing written results of psychological and educational testing and measurements; interpret results to parents, teachers, administrators and others as legally appropriate
- Work in cooperation with Special Education teachers to conduct evaluations of new students suspected of having learning disabilities and write corresponding report
- Counsel with students regarding emotional/personal issues
- Implement peer counseling/self-esteem groups
- Serve as a liaison and consultant to other professionals involved in student appraisals including administrators, speech therapists, nurses, and counselors for the purpose of correlating all available information regarding individual children
- Consult with school personnel on a variety of psychological concerns such as those relating to instructional programs, individual needs of children, and behavioral management
